Energy Performance Certificates

Chalmers & Co can provide Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs).

From 4th January 2009 all residential or commercial properties let under a new lease will require an Energy Performance Certificate. This document give a property an energy rating from A to G indicating how energy efficient the building is and providing suggestions to reduce the amount of energy it requires.

The most efficient properties will have 'A' rating; those which retain the least heat will have a 'G' rating. The Certificates are intended to provide prospective tenants or purchasers with additional information to help inform their decision making process.

An Energy Performance Certificate lasts for 10 years and also forms an integral part of Home Reports when a residential property is sold.

Certificates must be produced an accredited professional; the Chalmers & Co. team are able to provide this service for residential properties from £99 (+ VAT); discounts may be available for surveying several properties under the same ownership.
